About this Event

¡Gritos! de Independencia (“Cries of Independence”) is an annual event hosted by the Northwest Side CDC that celebrates Latin American heritage in Belmont Cragin. The event is held during Hispanic Heritage Month, during which many Latin American countries mark their independence. The event brings musical performances by local artists to restaurants across the neighborhood, pairing musicians and businesses that represent a shared national identity and expanding their audience. By pairing artists and businesses that share national roots, Gritos aims to honor the diversity of the neighborhood while amplifying local musicians and supporting small businesses in Belmont Cragin.
