It's finally taking shape! I had to be patient and wait and listen and witness what the community was telling me they needed. That, and listening to my guides at 3 a.m. a lot of mornings. The sacred outline of this circle is about each of us and the collective. The first hour of drumming (NOT continual) is about each individual woman in the circle drumming for herself and her life, her love for herself and her shadow self. The second hour is about "the collective" anyone and anything outside of ourselves, the Universe, other people, the planet. Drumming "in-service" to everything/everyone else.
This is my "service" to the Universe, there will be "no-charge" for this monthly gathering, donation based only. I own the facility we will be using so there is no cost to me besides electric and water which is minimal ;-)
My intention is to build a consistent group of women drummers that meet once a month and make a commitment to do so, to be of service to ourselves, each other and the world/planet. Community is built on trust. You can't build solid trust with no consistency. Please consider joining me on this sacred journey to change the vibration in ourselves and the planet one drummer at a time, by committing to show up each month to drum. :-)
Medicinal drumming. Drumming as MEDICINE.
Medicinal drumming, also known as therapeutic drumming, refers to the practice of using rhythmic drumming to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It can be a form of therapy, meditation, or a communal activity that fosters connection and healing.
What it is:
Therapeutic:
Drumming can be used as a complementary therapy to help with stress reduction, pain management, and emotional processing.
Mindfulness:
It can induce a meditative state, promoting relaxation and present moment awareness.
Community:
Drumming circles provide a sense of belonging and connection, fostering social interaction and support.
Shamanic:
In some traditions, drumming is a spiritual practice used to connect with inner wisdom, ancestral rhythms, and the divine.
How it works:
Brainwave Entrainment:
Rhythmic drumming can synchronize brainwaves with the drum's beat, leading to relaxation and altered states of consciousness much like "sound bowl/gong" events.
Endorphin Release:
Drumming can stimulate the release of endorphins, natural pain relievers and mood boosters.
Emotional Release:
The physical act of drumming can be a powerful way to release pent-up emotions and stress.
Improved Immune Function:
Some studies suggest that group drumming can boost the immune system, according to research published by Barry Bittman, M.D.
Theta Rhythm:
The "Theta rhythm" in drumming, a fast-paced beat (not always), is believed to promote brain health and balance by bringing the two hemispheres into rhythmic alignment.
BENEFITS:
*reduces stress and anxiety
*improves mood and well-being
*helps manage chronic pain
*enhances focus and concentration
*promotes emotional processing and healing
*strengthens social connections and community bonds
*offers a fun engaging way to explore personal growth and self-discovery

We can indeed change the vibration on the planet one drummer at a time.
