These progressive group classes are limited in capacity, so signing up for your desired role (Leader or Follower) ahead of time is highly recommended. No-partner is required. $68/Cycle.
Practica is FREE for actively enrolled Viva students in group classes or private lessons. For non-active students, it's $5/Practica
3 months of missed classes requires level reassessment. Come in 15 minutes before class for reassessment.

L1 Zouk with Y & Julissa (no partner or experience needed)
Tues. 7:30-8:30 PM
Brazilian Zouk is a partner dance descending from Lambada in Brazil. The 3 dominant lines of Brazilian Zouk are Rio Zouk (traditional zouk), Lamba Zouk, and Neo Zouk. In this class, we will be teaching the fundamentals of Rio Zouk.
Elements: Brazilian Dance Council (BZDC) movements on vertical axis, Zouk rhythm & basic timing, foundational connection & frame, culture, and consent.

L2 Zouk with Parker (pre-req: assessment of L1 skills/elements)
Tues. 7:30-8:30 PM
Take your basics and breathe life into them in this intermediate class focusing on patterns, techniques, variations, and connection.
Elements: Introduction to variations (handholds, footwork, directional, partner orientation, etc.) on BZDC movements on vertical, diagonal, and horizontal axis; frontal, lateral, & diagonal isolations; linear active & passive head movement; connection & frame; and timing variations.

A focus on upper-intermediate and advanced patterns, techniques, variations, and connection
Elements: Variations (handholds, footwork, directional, partner orientation, etc.) on BZDC movements on vertical, diagonal, and horizontal axis; frontal, lateral, & diagonal isolations; circular active & passive head movement; shaping & shaped turns; linear & circular movements; traveling head movement; intro do weight sharing; connection & frame; and timing variations.

L4 Zouk with Parker (pre-req: assessment of L1, L2, & L3 skills)
Tues. 6:30-7:30 PM
Elements: Stacking and/or stringing multiple L3 skills/elements; intro to Neo Zouk technique; traveling movements on different axes; colgada, volcada, & low support; variations on turns & spins; advanced timing variations; centripetal & centrifugal force; and beyond.
