✨F.A.Q.✨
-Why have regular classes on Fundamentals?
Brazilian Zouk is a dance that relies heavily on fundamentals. All those amazing YouTube and Insta videos you see of artists doing cool stuff (including head movements) - all based on fundamentals!
-Are Fundamentals just for Beginners?
Absolutely not! You’ll find that most artists and pro level competitors still spend a lot of time working on their fundamentals. These are core techniques that are needed from beginner all the way to advanced.
-What will I learn?
Fundamentals include things like linear and spot basics, side steps, lateral, viradinha, elastico, ioio, normal and reverse bonus, soltinho, gostosinho, lunge turn, giro simple, piao, body waves, etc.
-What techniques will I learn?
You will learn appropriate impulse, projection, control and grounding; gradual weight transfers, use of levels and suspension, torsion, pivoting techniques, zouk connection, pre-movements, timing and body movement.
-I am an advanced dancer in a different dance. Should I still join?
Yes! Even though there might be areas where your previous experience will speed up your progress, you will absolutely need specific knowlege of Zouk Fundamentals to perform advanced Zouk techniques.
-I don’t have any social dancing experience. Is this suitable for me?
Yes! Content is taught in a progressive way, building up technique in layers , and in a fun way everyone can understand 🙂
