Join us for an evening tour of our historic site, through our Zoo History Walk & Talk.Discover Dudley Zoo & Castle’s rich history through this unique guided tour, which will focus on the zoo’s early years, and the construction of our 12 listed Tecton buildings.
You’ll have an opportunity to see the zoo after hours, while learning about the rich diversity of species that have called our site home over the past nine decades.
The 12 listed Lubetkin-designed concrete structures at Dudley Zoo, built between 1936 and 1937, are the greatest collection of surviving Tecton buildings in the world and some of the most important modern movement buildings in the UK. Over the years, they’ve been home to a range of incredibly species including elephants, orangutans, chimpanzees, dolphins and killer whales!
Through this evening event, we’ll be exploring the form and function of these incredible buildings – while also sharing our plans for their future development and restoration.
Tickets: £9.00 per adult & £6.00 per child (8 – 15 yrs)
