Zomerzang 2024: Medieval Spain

Zomerzang is a summer choir for the entire community. Music reading ability is helpful but not required. Summer 2024 will focus on Medieval Spanish repertoire, drawing on music from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, the Llibre Vermell, and the Las Huelgas and Codex Calixtinus manuscripts. This repertoire encompasses a wide range of styles, from cutting-edge 13th-century polyphony and ethereal songs to catchy, danceable tunes. Each session will be self-contained. Instruments will accompany the class for two sessions; the remaining two will be a capella. All ages are welcome; there are no gender restrictions.

Participation Fees: $100 for the full course; $35/individual session
