KMI to system manipulacji powięziowych, który został zbudowany na powyższej koncepcji. Kiedy relacje pomiędzy taśmami zostaną zrozumiane, można zbadać i ocenić ich funkcjonowanie oraz poprzez użycie reguł KMI przywrócić balans i łatwość funkcjonowania na przebiegu tych taśm. Metoda KMI ma za zadanie uwolnić stłoczone i skrócone obszary tkanki łącznej oraz powtórnie nauczyć ciało bardziej efektywnych i zużywających mniej energii wzorców postawy i ruchu.
