Zine Making: COVID-Safe Social with Breathe Easy London
About this Event
Breathe Easy London's monthly COVID-safe social.
This month, we will have a special table set up for making for making zines, and we're giving everyone a special prompt about Trans joy and/or "What's it like to live in your body?" for #TransAwarenessWeek. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own to add to the table if you have any. Participation completely optional.

FFP2/3 masks and proof of a negative test are required on arrival (and provided). This event will last for 3 hours.
NOTE: Breathe Easy London is run primarily by LGBTQ+ volunteers and we vehemently denounce and prevent homophobia or transphobia of any kind at our events. Those who are not allies to LGBTQ+ people and efforts are not welcome, and this event specifically is about Trans joy.
What to expect:
FFP2/3 masks and proof of a negative test are required on arrival (and provided).
Attendees are welcome to ask organisers for an introduction to any group to break the ice.
After 20-30 minutes, we will invite guests to switch to a different activity or take a break if they wish, though this will not be required.
Standing will not be required for any portion of this event, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
We have booked out the entire venue. There is both a quiet space and sensory friendly seating.

Covid safety at the event
Attendees will be greeted and asked to provide photo proof of a negative COVID test in the last 24 hours.
If attendees don't have the opportunity to take one beforehand, they will be provided and asked to take them away from the group.
After confirming negative tests, attendees will be provided an FFP2/3 mask (if they do not have their own) and invited to socialise with other attendees at various activity areas(board games, arts and crafts, conversation prompts, etc.).
For everyone's safety, please do not attend the event if you are unwell or have any symptoms that are unusual for you, especially signs or symptoms of respiratory illness such as a sore throat, runny nose, fever, etc. We can provide a refund on your donation at any time in the lead up to the event if you contact [email protected].
If you have a medical mask exemption or need for a valved mask, please get in touch with us beforehand to arrage a Plus Life test upon arrival.
Pricing
This event is free/pay-what-you-can, with various ticket options available so that you can choose the best option for you. The costs of putting on an event are currently more than ticket sales cover (we've made an average loss of £28 for each event so far) so all donations are welcome to help Breathe Easy London become more self-sustaining! No profit is being made as 100% of donations will go towards putting on more COVID-safe events in London. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. We are Breathe Easy London, a group of immunocompromised / COVID-conscious Londoners organising monthly events for members of our community to safely socialise.

Why are we running these events?
Governments and the public have decided to abandon infection control and endanger those around them, putting already-marginalised communities at risk of Long COVID, social isolation, and death.
We want to create spaces for people to socialise, find community, and have fun without putting themselves or others at risk of damage to their immune, cardiovascular, or nervous systems.
We are specifically welcoming:
- Disabled people (4x higher COVID mortality rate)
- People of colour (32% long COVID rate)
- Women (36% long COVID rate)
- Trans people (48% long COVID rate)
- Neurodivergent people (30% long COVID rate)
- People with HIV (58% long COVID rate)
or anyone else at increased risk (or those who don't want to spread such a disease to the greater London community).
