UTC-04:00Location
Inwood Hill Park (Seaman & Isham Street) The Inwood section of Manhattan | New York, NY

Take the Great Saunter Fall Challenge. Register here(https://shorewalkers.org/join-a-saunter/) to walk 32 miles in 16 days starting October 4. Registration is only $10 ($8 for members), and Shorewalkers will donate all fees to the Carl Schurz Park Conservancy(https://www.carlschurzparknyc.org/), the dedicated caretakers of the park’s beautiful gardens and lawns. This walk will count for 12 miles of your total. You do not have to participate in the Fall Challenge to join the walk—all members are welcome.
Join this walk which is basically south from Inwood to 110th Street, but also east and west through time, culture, and history as lived in Upper Manhattan. We will visit land formations, earthworks, burial sites, statues, mansions and farmhouses, saints and sinners, quiet parks and bustling streets, and one greenmarket. Some highlights are: Muscota salt marsh, caves originally inhabited by the Lenape people, former African burial ground, Dyckman Farmhouse, United Palace, Morris-Jumel mansion, High Bridge, and the Amiable Child. Expect a workout for both body and mind as we move from landmark to landmark. The group will be on the small side due to the wandering aspect, so if you decide after registering that you will not be coming, please be courteous to those on the waiting list and change your rsvp.
