For over four decades, Earth Day—celebrated annually on April 22—has inspired people around the globe to take action for our planet. In Danvers, we're keeping that spirit going with a special Zero Waste Recycling Weekend, giving residents the opportunity to recycle a wide variety of items that aren't accepted in curbside bins!Hosted by the Town of Danvers Department of Public Works, this event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Danvers High School parking lot (60 Cabot Road). Proof of residency is required upon entry.
What You Can Recycle:
Simple Recycling - www.SimpleRecycling.com
Drop off clean, dry textiles such as clothing, shoes, purses, linens, comforters, and household goods (bagged or boxed).
BoxQ Electronics Recycling - www.BoxQ.net
Bring your electronics and accessories—no light bulbs, ballasts, or batteries, please.
Computer monitors (all sizes) $15
TVs (all sizes) $30
Printers & copiers $15
Stereo Equipment $5/each unit
Major Appliances (Refrigerators, Freezer, Air Conditioner) $30
Small Appliances FREE
Microwaves $10
Note: Payment is by cash or check (payable to BoxQ, Inc.). No credit cards accepted.
*Other appliances like stoves, washers, and dryers may be recycled with METAL at no charge.
Access Paper Shredding
Paper shredding will be collected but performed off sight. Shred the first two boxes of documents for free—additional boxes are $5 each (cash only). All proceeds benefit the Danvers Food Pantry.
Additional Free Recycling Options:
METAL: File cabinets, grills, appliances, hangers, doors, etc.
RIGID PLASTICS: Buckets, toys, barrels, lawn furniture, etc.
Compost Bins
Available for $25 (check payable to the Town of Danvers).
Bottle & Can Drive
On BOTH Saturday, May 2 and Sunday May 3, Cub Scout Pack 16 will collect redeemable bottles and cans. Support your local scouts!
