About this Event

Zero-Cost AI Training for Nonprofits
Hands-On, Certificate Included

On August 19, the AI Catalyst Institute is offering zero-cost AI training exclusively for nonprofit professionals.

This is a working session, not another general AI presentation. Participants will have their fingers on the keyboard, applying practical frameworks, testing prompts, reviewing results, and building something they can use in their work immediately.

AI is already changing how nonprofits develop funding proposals, communicate with donors, deliver programs, document outcomes, and report to funders. At the same time, nonprofit teams are being asked to respond within tight budgets, lean staffing, sensitive-data requirements, and real accountability to donors, boards, funders, and the communities they serve.

This session provides a practical, repeatable AI playbook adapted for nonprofit work. There is no vendor pitch and no expectation that participants purchase new technology. The focus is on bounded, low-risk applications using tools organizations may already have.

Participants will learn how to use AI in ways that are useful, reviewable, explainable, and appropriate for work that may be seen by a supervisor, funder, board member, auditor, or member of the public.

Why This Event Exists

Akron Innovations and the AI Catalyst Institute have designed and delivered hands-on AI skills labs for workforce agencies and corporate teams.

Across those organizations, the same pressures appear repeatedly: teams are expected to do more with less, maintain quality, protect sensitive information, document their work, and adopt new technology without creating unnecessary risk.

Nonprofits face those same demands, often with fewer resources and limited access to professional technology training.

Nonprofit organizations perform essential work throughout our communities. Providing their teams with practical, responsible AI skills is one way we can support that work.

For that reason, we are offering this session free of charge to nonprofit professionals at Bounce Innovation Hub. It uses the same core frameworks and hands-on learning model we use with workforce and business teams, adapted for nonprofit operations.

What You Will Walk Away With

A Practical, Low-Risk AI Playbook

Learn a repeatable process for using AI responsibly in tasks such as grant writing, donor communications, program documentation, outreach, internal reporting, and operational planning.

You will learn how to define the task, protect confidential information, identify risks, request the right output, and verify the result before using it.

A Reusable Workflow Built Around Real Work

Bring one real task from your organization and use it during the session.

You might work on:

  • Drafting or refining a grant narrative
  • Turning program notes into a structured report
  • Creating donor or community communications
  • Summarizing meeting or intake notes
  • Cleaning up an internal document
  • Developing a repeatable prompt for a recurring task

By the end of the session, you will have a reusable workflow, not just a list of ideas.

Better Outputs Without Unnecessary Exposure

Learn where small, targeted uses of AI can reduce administrative workload and improve consistency without placing confidential information, organizational credibility, or public trust at unnecessary risk.

The session emphasizes human review, clear documentation, source verification, confidentiality, and outputs that can withstand scrutiny from leadership, boards, donors, funders, and the public.

An AI Skills Certificate

At the conclusion of the session, participants may complete a skills assessment. Those who meet the required standard will receive an AI skills certificate from the AI Catalyst Institute.

This is an in-person event only. There will be no livestream or recording. Seats are limited.
