Zement, consisting of Philipp Hager (Guitar, Synthesizer, Bass, Saxophone, Organ, Vocals) & Christian Büdel (Drums, Percussion), is back with their fourth full-length album "Passagen", set to take listeners on a mesmerizing sonic journey!
Crafted again by the same team which made their last record "Rohstoff" so special, their new album "Passagen" dives even more
deeper into their unique sound and art world, which stands for its own! Recorded by Florian Helleken at Hersbrooklyn Recordings, mixed by Lolo Blümler at Iron Bar Studios and mastered by Chris Hielscher at Subsounddistortion, "Passagen" promises to build on the band’s signature fusion of sounds. Combined with the stunning artwork and design by Sabrina Zeltner and Philipp Dittmar of design office Complex Pleasures, "Passagen" takes you on a journey into the unique cosmos of Zement.
Drawing on influences from the early electronic, Autobahn-inspired works of Kraftwerk, and the hypnotic repetition of Krautrock legends Neu! and CAN, Zement have crafted a unique hybrid sound that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. The rhythms still revolve and the
synthesizers still swirl. Combined with psychedelic fuzzy guitars, cosmic Saxophone sounds and pulsating drums and percussion, this music manufactory brings you a new hot sound with a pop-twist, which feels as if it was made right beside the East River.
"Passagen" is a loose narrative, a stream of consciousness, in which songs with lyrics and purely instrumental pieces complement each other. Reflection and articulation meet the euphoria of free improvisation and the catharsis of the dancefloor. Free your mind and your ass will follow - and vice versa. It is a journey, on which the narrator embarks, out of the paralyzing standstill and into a space of possibilities.
Following the success of their third album, Rohstoff, "Passagen" is set to take Zement’s exploration of sound even further! The endless meditation on the architecture of mind and the movement of bodies continues! Join us on this journey!

Acid Rooster
Trio from Leipzig blast off into space like a textbook sonic joyride straight out of Alan Freeman’s The Crack in the Cosmic Egg. With a sound evoking the spirit of German kraut and psych rock pioneers, the instrumental tracks on their partially written and improvised albums often oscillate between slow-burning, spaced out jams and mind-bending climaxes that have earned them a stellar reputation for their captivating live shows.

The debut album of Berlin’s finest two-thirds Welsh, one-third Danish instrumental psych-disco trio, out Aug 30th 2024. Imagine Jaki, JJ and Jarre*** locked in a room together, with a memo from John Carpenter that reads “Goblin + Swans = ?”. Something like that. Raw drums, bass, vintage organs and synths are utilised to brutal effect via 7 epic songs that deliver disco disquietude, krautrock, oscillating horror soundtracks and beyond.
