Glasgow, mark your calendars: guitarguitar are thrilled to have teamed up with D’Addario and Ibanez to bring you an incredible guitar clinic this July, with one of the most influential players in modern guitar, Yvette Young!
Meet the Artist
Named one of the greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, Yvette Young is a multi instrumentalist and singer who leads the math rock band Covet. Her unique style of tapping has gained her status as one of the most influential guitar players in the progressive/math rock scene. With several studio albums under her belt, both with the band and solo, as well as contributing to the cinematic blockbuster Spiderman’s soundtrack, Yvette Young’s songwriting is just as exceptional as it is inspirational. An endorsee for Ibanez and D’Addario to mention a few, Yvette Young is the role model for the new generation of players.
The Clinic
During this clinic, Yvette Young will demonstrate some of the tasty math rock licks she’s so well known and loved for. On top of that, Yvette will explore ways of overcoming creative blocks and where inspiration can come for songwriting. She will also discuss navigating balancing music as a career and artistic identity, as well as how to protect your love for your craft in the era of social media trends.
