YPE NYC: Con Edison Steam Plant Tour
About this Event
Join Young Professionals of Energy NYC (YPE NYC) on a tour of Con Edison's East River Generating plant. The tour begins with a brief overview of the steam system, including the history of the district steam network, how steam is used across NYC, and highlights of the decarbonization plan. Next, we'll tour the plant itself to see the boilers and learn how steam is generated. We'll then visit the control room, where operators keep the system running 24/7/365.

Tour Schedule
- Check in with security: 15 min

Meeting Point
We'll meet at the guard booth located at the northeast corner of E 14th Street and Avenue C. Look for the Con Edison-blue wall.

- Long-sleeved shirt made of 100% natural fibers
