About this Event
Creator Connect Austin - Interactive Meetups For YouTube, TikTok, & Instagram Creators in Austin, TX.
Share strategies, troubleshoot problems, collab on projects. Weekly meetups on campus at the University of Texas. Read on to get all the details...
1 - Who Is It For [The Who]
If you're trying to grow your audience on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, our meetups are 110% for you. You'll fit right in if you're friendly, growth-minded, down to earth, and all about taking action toward your goals. Here's some examples of different things we'll be helping each other with at meetups ...
✅ unique & creative ways to hook viewer attention, turn casual viewers into subscribed fans, get the algorithm to push your content, etc.
✅ how to get brands to sponsor your content - reaching out, building relationships, getting your first brand deal, contracts, etc.
✅ creator business strategy - selling your own products & merch, growing your email list, using AI to cut down on tasks, building your brand, etc.
✅ getting booked on podcasts in your niche and cross collaborating with other creators who have similar audience demographics & psychographics.
✅ mindset support - getting rid of imposter syndrome, getting out of your head & taking action, not letting negative comments get to you, etc.
✅ peer Q&A support for your whatever specific questions you might have at the moment or whatever you feel stuck on.
2 - What We're All About [The What]
The meetups are not about pitching yourself or trying to outshine anyone. It's about showing up with the intention of genuinely trying to get to know people in the group, sharing ideas, and being helpful in whatever way you can. We want people who are there to learn from each other, have an abundance mindset, believe in giving (not just taking), and know it all comes back to you in the end.
3 - Better Together, It’s Why We’re Doing This [The Why]
Why go it alone? Surround yourself with like-minded people who all want to help each other succeed. Imagine being able to bounce ideas off of other creators whenever you feel stuck, or getting a little extra encouragement when you have a setback or something doesn't go exactly as planned. It makes a huge difference. Learn together, grow together, better together.
4 - How It Works & What You Can Expect [The How]
Weekly Strategy Meetups 🧠📈
You can think of the "strategy meetups" as an anchor resource that's there for you whenever you feel stuck & need a few pointers, want to level up your skills & mindset, or just want to meet other creators in the area.
You can expect things like name tags, icebreakers, skill sharing breakout groups, creator Q&A circles, peer troubleshooting sessions, and other interactive activities - all designed to help facilitate new connections and make meeting other creators feel as natural as possible.
The intention is to create a structure that gets people talking to each other & sharing ideas - as opposed to just standing around hoping others introduce themselves. We want to make it so that even if you're an introvert or a bit shy at first, you're still able to meet & connect with other creators through the structured group activities.
***The first round of meetups are starting soon on campus at the University of Texas - specific dates, times, and location details will be announced to approved members. For more info on how to attend, read Section 7.
Dinners & Socials 🍱🧉🎳
As the group continues to grow, we'll also have some fun, informal get-togethers outside of the main strategy meetups - things like going out to dinner, bowling, Topgolf, watch parties, editing hangouts, etc. Why? Because some of the best ideas & 'aha moments' happen when people are just hanging out and having a good time.
Support Buddy Matching 👩🏻💻👩🏼💻
Get matched with a support buddy who is similar to you in terms of skill level, interests, and or creative intentions. You can use your support buddy to help hold each other accountable on goals you set or just to bounce ideas off of. Your support buddy will be the same gender as you. (You can opt out of being matched with a support buddy if you so choose.)
Skool Group Access 🖥️📱
Continue the discussion between meetups with access to our private Skool group. A Skool group works just like a Facebook group with member posts & comment threads. Use it to ask questions & share ideas, access creator resources, and stay up to date on upcoming meetups & events. The Skool app is available free on iOS & android.
5 - Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to join, you must meet the following requirements...
1. The Creator Connect meetups are for adults only. You must be at least 18 years of age to attend.
2. You must be creating content on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. You don't have to be active on all three, just one is fine.**
3. You must follow the meetup rules (see the rules section for more details).
**We don't care how many subscribers or followers you currently have. What's more important is that you're the type of person who is going to be a positive presence in the group and you have a genuine desire to learn & grow. Once you join, we'll help you get connected with other creators who have a similar subscriber count / skill level.
6 - Meetup Rules & Expectations
The meetups are a resource, not an obligation. That means there are no time commitments (you're free to come & go in a way that fits your schedule). That said, there are 3 rules you must comply with at meetups…
1 - Don't K*ll the Vibe: Be a source of positivity, encourage your peers, and have fun. No politics, no harassment, no sales pitching. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
2 - Keep Your Input & Feedback Constructive: It's 100% ok to disagree with your peers (friendly debate is even encouraged). Just make sure you always keep it constructive & respectful.
3 - Be Respectful of Host Venues: Always be considerate & respectful of the host venues for any of the meetups and or events. That includes venue staff. Never leave trash or damage property.
These rules will be enforced so if you do not agree with them, please do not attempt to join. Repeated and/or severe violations of any of these rules will result in getting banned from future meetups & events.
7 - How to Attend Your First Meetup [New Member Application]
We're currently accepting applications for the initial test phase meetups. During the test phase, we'll be trying out different formats & activities to see which are the most helpful in terms of sharing ideas and connecting with other creators. If you would like to participate in the test phase, simply fill out a New Member Application linked down below. Test phase participants get free lifetime access to meetups ($47/month dues get permanently waived) even if membership dues ever increase in the future.
Before you fill out an application please keep in mind that to be eligible to join you must be an adult (18+ only) and creating content on at least one of the platforms mentioned (YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram).
Please be honest & accurate with your application responses. Your answers will help us assess your skill level, interests, and creative intentions so that we can put you in the appropriate peer breakout groups at meetups, not just during the test phase but also in the future as new members join.
Once your application is approved, we'll send you a welcome email with meetup details and how to access member resources.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We are going on a "first come, first served" basis to fill spots for the test phase (assuming you meet the basic requirements and are a good fit for the group). Due to the limited number of spots, and depending on when you fill out your application, you may be waitlisted. If you get waitlisted, we'll send you an email if new spots open up and you are able to start attending meetups.
