Youth Summer Series Writing Workshop: Making Your Character Shine
About this Event
Have you ever wondered what it takes to make your own book character? This workshop will take writers through the steps to craft a main character and how your plot should serve character growth.
For each workshop, participants are encouraged to bring a writing utensil, paper, and their enthusiasm for books! Come ready to create, explore new ideas, and celebrate the joy of storytelling.
Sarena Nanua and Sasha Nanua are twin sisters living in Ontario, Canada. Born on Diwali ten minutes apart from each other, they grew up loving stories about twins and magic, and began writing books together when they were nine years old. They are graduates of the English and Professional Writing programs at the University of Toronto and are the authors of YA books Sisters of the Snake, Daughters of the Dawn, and their newest release, A Riddle of Thorns. They are also the authors of the Spirit Service middle grade series. These workshops are completely designed by Sarena and Sasha with support from the Mississauga Arts Council and the Mississauga Library.
This program will take place in Program Room 2B on the second floor. This is a drop-in event, and tickets do not guarantee admission. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for attendees aged 13 and up. Please note that space is limited.
