Join the Fens Youth Rangers to learn practical conservation skills - Tree Management and Fen Wildlife ID
About this Event

Youth Rangers is a group for secondary-aged young people (11-17 years) keen to make a positive difference to their local environment. We meet throughout the year at various Cambridgeshire nature reserves and would love to welcome you to our group.

Join us for another fantastic session of learning real, practical conservation skills, learning from industry professionals and making a positive impact for wildlife. You do not need any experience to attend. This month we're at The Great Fen. This amazing project is one of the largest restoration projects of its type in Europe. Transforming and restoring the land into lowland peatlands includes lots of different management. We'll be joining the Wildlife Trusts Great Fen reserves teams to learn how to manage trees and habitats, how to ID trees and fenland wildlife, and enjoy the sights of winter on the fens. Exact location and task details TBC. Refreshments provided (hot drink and biscuits).

Please note:
Bookings are not confirmed until we have received your completed paperwork and consent form (for each child).

Please bring water and dress appropriately for the weather - Layers and waterproofs if needed. Long sleeves and trousers recommended- Wrap up warm as it can get very cold in the fens. Please wear sensible boots or wellies.
