ALL ABOARD! 🚂 The 2026 Model Railroad Summer Camp is here!
Ready to go beyond the tracks? This June, the Lehnis Railroad Museum is opening its doors for an immersive, three-day experience designed for young creators and explorers ages 8–14!
Our Model Railroad Summer Camp combines the art of model building with the real-world science of railroading. Here is what’s in store for your camper:
Design. Build. Exhibit. 🎨
Campers will get hands-on as they design and construct their very own model train diorama piece, complete with scenery and accessories. Once finished, their work will be featured in a special week-long exhibit in our museum gallery before heading home!
Learn from the Pros 👷‍♂️
We’re bringing in industry experts from TNW Corporation/TXR Railway and TX DOT to talk about train safety, awareness, and the vital role railroads play in our world today.
Inside the Roundhouse 🛤️
On the final day, we head outside to the mini train area. Campers will step into the shoes of a Conductor and Brakeman to learn exactly what it takes to keep a train moving safely and efficiently.
🗓️ Camp Essentials:
Price per camper: $60
Dates: June 16–18
Times: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Ages: 8–14
👕🍎Perks: Every camper receives a custom camp T-shirt and daily snacks!
🏆The Grand Finale Showcase
On the final day at 3:30 PM, we invite family and friends to join us for a special gallery showcase. Come see the campers' final products put together and enjoy light refreshments while we celebrate their hard work!
Space is limited to ensure a quality experience for every student. Register today to secure your spot!
