Youth Mechanic Academy (Ages 6-14) FREE
About this Event
The Youth Mechanic Academy is a hands-on automotive education program designed to introduce youth ages 6–14 to the fundamentals of vehicle maintenance in a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment.
Throughout this one-day academy, participants will work alongside experienced mechanics and automotive professionals to learn essential car care skills that every future driver should know. Students will gain practical experience using real tools while building confidence, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of basic automotive systems.
Participants will rotate through interactive learning stations covering topics such as:
- Tool identification and proper use
- Vehicle safety inspections
- Changing a tire
- Checking vehicle fluids
No prior automotive experience is required. All tools, materials, and safety equipment will be provided, and instruction is tailored to be age-appropriate and engaging for young learners.
By the end of the academy, participants will leave with practical automotive knowledge, increased confidence, and a stronger sense of independence while gaining exposure to careers in the skilled trades and automotive industry.
