Youth Lates - Open Mic and Live Music Night

Come join us for a night of talent and tunes at the Youth Lates in Nuns Island Theatre, Galway! It's a great opportunity to connect with other young artists and music lovers. If you are aged between 16-19, don't miss out on this fun-filled evening of entertainment and good vibes!

Galway City Council is partnering with Youth Work Ireland Galway, Galway City Comhairle na nÓg, Music Generation Galway City, and Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre to launch Youth Lates, a pilot project running from October to December 2024. This initiative offers young people a safe and engaging space to participate in Galway’s vibrant night-time economy.

Special guest performance by Metanoia, Galway's Rising Indie Pop/Rock Sensation 

Emerging from the vibrant music scene of Galway, Metanoia is an indie pop/rock band making waves with their infectious melodies and captivating live performances. Formed in 2023, this dynamic group draws inspiration from the '90s alternative scene, contemporary indie pop, post-punk, and funk, creating a unique sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. 

Metanoia's music is characterized by catchy hooks, impressive melodies, and a tight rhythm section that will have you tapping your feet and singing along in no time. Their early demos, "Cherry Blossoms" and "Thrill," offer a glimpse into their musical prowess and have already garnered attention from fans and critics alike. 

A Blend of Influences and a Sound of Their Own 

Metanoia's sound is a melting pot of influences, drawing on the energy and raw emotion of '90s alternative bands like Nirvana and Blur, the infectious hooks of modern indie pop acts like The 1975 and Bleachers, the driving rhythms of post-punk, and the groove-laden vibes of funk. This eclectic mix creates a sonic landscape that is both familiar and fresh, appealing to a wide range of music lovers.

Despite their relatively short time on the scene, Metanoia has already made a significant impact, steadily building a loyal following through their energetic live shows. Their captivating stage presence and infectious music have earned them a reputation as one of Galway's most exciting up-and-coming bands.

Meet Paranoia, the teenage band from Galway who are turning heads and capturing hearts with their infectious blend of pop rock and youthful energy. Paranoia is still in their early stages, but they've already made a splash in the local music scene with their energetic live performances and infectious enthusiasm. Their dedication to having fun translates into captivating stage presence and a genuine connection with their audience
