Please join us for our Youth Hand Drum Making Workshop, part of the Indigenous Cultures Institute's Summer Youth Encounter’s year-long Indigenous cultural programming for youth and families.

Saturday, September 19 | 3:30–6:00 PM
San Marcos Public Library.
Suggested ages: 9–14 | Families welcome

During this workshop, participants will create their own hand drum while learning about the cultural significance of drums within Native American and Indigenous communities. Together, we will explore how drums are used in song making, gatherings, cultural traditions, and community.Families are welcome to attend and learn alongside their youth.

If you already made a hand drum with the Indigenous Arts Summer Encounter, we invite you to come help others make their drum and we encourage you to please invite your friends, cousins, or siblings ages 9+.Supplies are limited, so to secure your spot, register here.
