About this Event
We're looking for community members to work together with our team to prep and plant native plants grown by EYA youth in the Youth Garden at Cottonwood Community Garden (at the corner of Raymur and Malkin). Your help will support future youth participants in East Vancouver to connect and be empowered to become environmental stewards through programs that centre on native plant horticulture, ecological restoration, plant medicine, and community leadership.
As we engage in community stewardship, this meaningful opportunity is a great way to learn and engage in the work and community of EYA, while also learning more about local native plants and give back to our programs in a hands-on way.

About EYA
EYA empowers youth from equity-denied communities to become environmental stewards. We provide free land-based education and paid employment training programs that support youth to develop the skills and confidence to become environmental stewards. Our programs centre on three themes - native plant horticulture, ecological restoration, and plant medicine. All programs integrate Indigenous teachings and land stewardship protocols through visits from Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers. EYA programs are led by youth who identify as Indigenous, Black, and/or People of Colour. Learn more EYA on our website.
