100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina and NC AABE Announce Youth Energy Academy
SOUTHPORT, NC | September 16, 2026 — The 100 Black Men of Coastal North Carolina, Inc., in partnership with the North Carolina Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (NC AABE), is proud to invite middle and high school students and youth groups to the upcoming Youth Energy Academy.
The academy will take place Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Brunswick Energy and Education Center, 8520 River Road S.E., Southport, NC 28461.
The Youth Energy Academy is designed to introduce young people to the world of energy, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through an engaging, hands-on learning experience.
Students will have opportunities to explore how energy works, participate in interactive STEM activities, learn about careers and opportunities within the energy industry, connect with professionals, and compete for prizes.
And yes, we are feeding them too. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
This event is about more than teaching young people how electricity gets from Point A to Point B. It is about helping them see where they might fit into the future of energy, technology, engineering, and innovation.
Exposure matters. Access matters. Sometimes a career begins because a young person finally gets the chance to see something they never knew existed.
