Come meet the next generation of marine scientists! The end-of-semester presentation for the various sections of the Gulf of Maine Field Studies class (Kennebunk HS, Freeport HS and UNE Biddeford), will be May 5th, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Alfond Forum room 283, Biddeford campus.This is an opportunity for the students in the different sections of the class to present the work they have done throughout this year. The projects are diverse, but in all of them, students have worked to address the challenges of climate change in their local communities. The projects include: Dune restoration in Biddeford Pool and Goose Rocks Beach, salt marsh restoration at Granite Point marsh, UNE’s Living Shoreline project, climate action planning for local high schools, managing the hemlock wooly adelgid, sustainable oyster aquaculture and more!
