About this Event
This interactive, research‑grounded workshop is designed for current and emerging leaders, partners, and advocates within A Bolder Way Forward (BWF)—the statewide initiative hosted by the Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) to ensure that more Utah girls, women, and families truly thrive. Participants should complete the StrengthsFinder 2.0 Assessment prior to attending and bring their results to fully engage in the experience (see Assessment Information section below for more details).
Facilitated by Dr. Susan R. Madsen, a certified Gallup Strengths coach, this workshop helps attendees understand their top talent themes and learn how to intentionally apply them within BWF, leadership roles, and everyday life. Through a strengths‑based lens, participants gain practical strategies that fuel confidence, collaboration, and thriving—individually and across teams, coalitions, and communities.
Participants will:
- Increase their understanding of strengths‑based development principles.
- Gain deeper self‑knowledge and insight into their unique talent themes.
- Strengthen awareness and appreciation of individual and collective strengths.
- Learn how to apply strengths to improve outcomes and accelerate progress.
- Enhance team relationships and collaboration (especially for groups attending together).
- Gain insight into how their particular strengths can drive meaningful societal change.
Ultimately, this workshop equips individuals, groups, and coalitions to discover, develop, and deploy their strengths in service of societal change. It provides a clear pathway for aligning personal talents with the shared work of building a Utah where all can thrive. By aiming strengths toward the BWF vision, participants learn how to contribute more strategically, lead more effectively, and help shape a stronger future for Utah.
Registration for the event will start at 8:00am where a light breakfast will be served and the workshop will begin at 8:30am.
Assessment Information:
Participants must complete the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment before attending. You may purchase a new copy of (recommended) or any StrengthsFinder 2.0 book that includes an unused assessment code. If you prefer not to buy a book, you can also take the CliftonStrengths Top 5 assessment online.
