By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe how the nervous system influences stress, focus, and emotional responses in everyday work and life situations.
- Identify personal stress and overload signals related to sensory input, routines, and environmental demands.
- Apply practical, sensory-based nervous system tools to improve regulation during common high-stress moments (e.g., meetings, deadlines, transitions, and after-work decompression).
- Develop a personalized regulation plan that supports sustainable energy, productivity, and well-being rather than burnout.
About Melodie Ethel-King:
- Melodie Ethel-King, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with over 30 years of experience helping people understand how their nervous systems impact stress, focus, energy, and daily performance. Her work centers on practical, real-life strategies grounded in sensory processing and self-regulation—especially for people navigating demanding work, school, and life transitions.
- Melodie is licensed in Oregon, certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), and holds an ADHD–Rehabilitation Services Provider (ADHD-RSP) Certification. She is known for her engaging, down-to-earth teaching style and her ability to make complex concepts feel accessible, relevant, and empowering.
