Special Olympics Indiana Jackson County's second session of Young Athletes will start Sept. 24 and continue each Thursday through Nov. 5 with a culminating event Nov. 12. Sessions will be from 5 to 6 p.m. in the gym at The Point in Seymour.
This free program is for kids ages 2 to 7 with and without intellectual disabilities within Jackson County and beyond. Each participant will receive a T-shirt.
Registration is open now, and there are two required steps. First, you need to register as a Special Olympics athlete at portals.specialolympics.org. Second, you need to register for the fall session at tinyurl.com/hauzsax9.
Parents or guardians also should visit portals.specialolympics.org and register as a Class A volunteer. Parents or guardians are required to stay with their children during the sessions.
The deadline to sign up is Sept. 1.
