Climate change is the defining issue of our time. Artists are examining what the future will look like and what can be done to help coming generations. This event features three published Canadian authors of climate fiction for teens: Lea Beddia, Mary Jennifer Payne, and Allister Thompson. Join us for author readings followed by an interactive discussion of the power YA fiction holds to inform, give hope, and inspire climate action. The authors acknowledge the leadership of youth and Indigenous people around our world in today's climate justice movement.This event is free, but space is limited, so please RSVP on TicketSource. Masks are not required, but will be provided for free at the door.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Lea Beddia is an author, storyteller and educator. Born and raised in Montreal, she now teaches school in Joliette, Quebec where she lives with her husband and three children.
Mary Jennifer Payne is the author of the Daughters of Light series, the YA novel Since You’ve Been Gone, and several YA graphic stories. She lives in Toronto.
Allister Thompson spent his youth dividing his time between working as an editor for Toronto-based publishers and touring with a rock band. He is also the author of an alternate history sci-fi novel, The Music of the Spheres. He currently runs his own freelance editorial business out of his home in North Bay.
