You Can’t Take It With You

OKTC proudly presents You Can’t Take It With You, the classic American comedy written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman and directed by Shannon Motherwell. This beloved play follows the wonderfully eccentric Sycamore family, a household overflowing with creativity, fireworks, and delightfully unconventional passions. Their lively world is thrown into comedic chaos when their daughter’s fiancé arrives with his very traditional parents, sparking a hilarious and heartfelt clash of values.
Motherwell’s direction highlights the play’s timeless message: that joy, authenticity, and human connection matter far more than status or perfection. With energetic performances and a vibrant ensemble cast, OKTC invites audiences to experience a story that celebrates individuality, love, and the reminder that the most meaningful parts of life can’t be taken with you.
