Welcome to You Can Sit With Us (YCSWU) – a calm, semi-structured co-learning space created especially for home-educated children aged 8–14.
Think of it like a co-working space… but for kids.Children bring along their own work set by parents, and our friendly team provides a safe, supportive environment where they can:
- Learn how to organise their time and work independently
- Collaborate and problem-solve with peers
- Build confidence by helping others in subjects they’ve already explored
Each session is drop-off provision so parents don’t need to stay on site.
What to bring
- Work/learning tasks from home (books, worksheets, laptop, tablet etc.)
- A snack and drink for breaktime
- A curious mind and willingness to learn alongside others
What to expect
- A calm, focused atmosphere
- Peer-to-peer support and encouragement
- Guidance from the YCSWU team, without replacing your role as educator
- Three hours of structured co-learning
For parents:
- Plenty of on-site parking
- Optional co-working space available upstairs at Eli House, so you can focus while your child does too
Is this space suitable for my child?
YCSWU is ideal for children who are:
- Home educated and aged 8–14
- Able to work with some independence (with gentle support from us if needed)
- Curious about learning in a different environment with like-minded peers
We welcome children regardless of neurodiveristy or disability - with or without a diagnosis. However, we are not a specialist provider and cannot currently support children with an EHCP unless they are already receiving education elsewhere, in line with national guidance for unregistered educational settings. We are also currently unable to provide 1:1 behavioural support.
