About this Event
Project Summary:
As sea levels rise, flooding along San Francisco’s waterfront is expected to be more frequent and severe. The Bayview neighborhood near Yosemite Slough is one of the last gaps in San Francisco’s adaptation plans for sea level rise. The Yosemite Slough Neighborhood Adaptation Plan aims to eliminate that disparity. The San Francisco Planning Department, in partnership with other city, state and federal agencies, is analyzing coastal flood risks and asking for your input on adaptation strategies for the neighborhood surrounding Yosemite Slough. This project is one of several coordinated efforts to protect the entire shoreline—including residents, local businesses, and community assets—from 3.5 to 7 feet of projected sea level rise by 2100.
Community Input Is Essential!
The City will host a series of public events to gather input on community priorities for advancing sea level rise adaptation strategies and environmental justice in the Bayview. This first workshop offers an opportunity to learn about the project, affirm community values and goals, share your input, and identify key waterfront investments that align with the Bayview community's needs.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments provided.
The event will be held at the Alex Pitcher Pavilion at Southeast Community Center @ 1550 Evans Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124. The event is ADA accessible, including accessible restrooms.
