Yorkshire Poets Society with Toria Garbutt
Jack Collins and Carla Mellor invite you to join them for the very first Yorkshire Poets Society, featuring Yorkshires finest - Toria Garbutt.
Toria Garbutt is a poet and spoken word performer from Knottingley, West Yorkshire. Her work, rooted in themes of class, identity and personal experience, features regularly in The Guardian, on BBC platforms and widely across National stages. She has published two collections with Wrecking Ball Press – The Universe and Me and Another Time in Space – and has toured extensively in the UK and Europe alongside Dr. John Cooper Clarke, including Glastonbury Festival and The London Palladium. Toria works within the criminal justice system, using poetry as a tool for connection, reflection and rehabilitation. Toria is currently writing her third collection.
There'll also be a slam-style open-mic, poems from the hosts (Jack and Carla) and creative networking for introverts.
