About this Event

Yorkshire Poets Society with Kirsty Taylor

Jack Collins and Carla Mellor invite you to join them for the very first Yorkshire Poets Society, featuring Bratfud's finest - Kirsty Taylor.

Kirsty Taylor is a writer and educator who tells powerful stories of people, class, and community through poetry and performance. She is the creator of Front Room Poetry and writer of Cashy C’s: The Musical. In 2024 she was awarded the Kay Mellor Fellowship and has been developing new work for stage and screen. In 2025 she opened Bradford's City of Culture with her words, dramaturgy and performance in Rise to over 20,000 people and continues her work in the community engaging and championing people and her hometown.
There'll also be a slam-style open-mic, poems from the hosts (Jack and Carla) and creative networking for introverts.
