EDITS: Make Better Reels Without Spending Hours Editing Them

You’ve filmed the clips and they’re sitting in your camera roll. Now you need to somehow turn them into one of those lovely, polished Reels where everything flows, the captions appear in the right place, the music works, the boring bits have disappeared and it all looks like you actually know what you’re doing! 😂
So you open an editing app, press a few buttons, accidentally delete something, undo it, add some text and spend approximately 400 years trying to make everything line up before thinking... "Screw it. I’ll post a photo.”

That's what we're fixing in September.

This workshop is all about Edits — Instagram's video editing app — and how you can use it to turn the random clips sitting on your phone into polished, professional-looking Reels without becoming a video editor or losing an entire afternoon to 30 seconds of content.
We're not going to learn every single bloody button... because you don't need to. We're going to focus on the tools you'll actually use again and again to make your content look better and take LESS time to create.

We'll cover:
✂️ How to use the timeline — importing clips, trimming, splitting, deleting mistakes and putting everything in the right order.
🗣️ How to add and edit captions so your videos are easier to watch and accessible — without covering your entire face in words.
👀 How to make those first few seconds count using verbal, visual and text hooks that give people a reason to stop scrolling.
🎥 How to use B-roll properly so every Reel doesn't have to be 45 seconds of you staring into the camera.
🎵 How to add music and balance your audio so your lovely soundtrack isn't drowning out every bloody word you're saying.
📱 How to stitch separate clips together so you can film in manageable chunks instead of trying to nail everything in one perfect take.
📝 How to use tools like the teleprompter and storyboard to make the filming process quicker too.
🟩 How to use green screen, text, title cards, transitions and simple effects when they actually improve the video.
⚡ How to use templates when you want something that looks good but quite frankly cannot be arsed spending ages making it.
And perhaps most importantly... When to STOP editing!
You need to get really bloody quick at the small handful of editing skills your business actually needs.
And this one's hands-on.

Before the workshop, you'll need to come armed with:
Your phone.
The Edits app downloaded.
That's it.
I'll take you through the editing process step-by-step while you do it on your own phone and by the end of the workshop, the aim is for those random clips on your camera roll to have become a finished 15–30 second Reel — AND for you to understand how you did it well enough to do it again without me.
