A room full of Yorkies is not a quiet room. It is, however, a very good one.
Welcome to Yorkie Puppy Yoga by Yoga Kawa in Toronto. This is one hour of beginner-friendly yoga paired with a small herd of Yorkshire Terriers who have absolutely no interest in your flow sequence and every interest in your face.
Yorkies are bold, curious, and approximately the size of a loaf of bread. They will climb on you, investigate your mat, and demand attention with the confidence of a dog three times their size. It is as charming as it sounds.
Here's how the hour breaks down:
- 35 minutes of easy, beginner-friendly yoga
- 20 minutes of connection and cuddle time
- 5 minutes of sharing circle
Why people keep coming back
Puppy yoga in Toronto does something a regular yoga class cannot. A Yorkie wanders over, tucks itself against your leg, and your nervous system just... exhales. The week, the inbox, the Saturday to-do list that somehow grew overnight. All of it gets a little quieter when there is a tiny dog sitting on your mat looking up at you like you are the best thing that has ever happened to them.
A note on Yorkie puppies
Yorkshire Terriers are feisty, affectionate, and wildly confident for their size. They tend to bond quickly with people, love being held, and have a terrier's instinct to investigate everything in the room. Expect a lot of sniffing, a lot of tail wagging, and at least one Yorkie who decides your shoulder is a perfectly reasonable place to sit. They are social, spirited, and endlessly entertaining.
Families and kids
Kids ages 5 and up are welcome at this session. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who also participates and helps their child move gently and handle the puppies with care.
Mats provided. No experience needed. Just show up, find a spot, and let a Yorkie take it from there.
