It may be surprising to learn all of the ways in which a trauma-sensitive approach may widen your practice as a student or instructor of yoga. During a time in which the wellness world uses the phrases "trauma" and "somatics" more and more, what do these words really imply? During this workshop, we will hone in on the ways in which we can create cultures of agency, resilience, and empowerment within yoga spaces. This will apply to those sharing yoga practices in public studio or non-profit settings alike.
While attending this workshop, you can expect the following structure: An introduction to how we may define "trauma," and its implications. A shared practice opportunity to experience what a trauma-sensitive yoga practice may look like. Further exploration of how an inside-out approach can be applied in teaching yoga, in addition to the implications of student-teacher dynamics in a class setting. There will be a Q&A period at the end of the workshop to delve into any questions attendees may have.
This workshop can be a wonderful opportunity to expand the approaches you may take in yoga and movement practices. If you have been curious about sharing yoga with more vulnerable populations, or finding ways to support a student's inner experience, this workshop would be for you!
