Learn and Practice:
*Interpreting signals of the Sympathetic Nervous System and how to achieve calm and stillness
*Pranayama, different breathing techniques to support your nervous system
*Synchronization of movement and breath
*Management of intrusive thoughts
This Yoga Therapy* program includes:
*An individual assessment (60 minutes) before the start of the program (in-person or virtual)
*12 in-person classes, Tuesday and Thursdays over 6 weeks
*Small group of 5-6 people
Class themes include
*learning embodied practices to interpret signals of your parasympathetic nervous system (PNS)
*How to achieve calm and stillness
*Noticing and managing intrusive thoughts; and Mindful and somatic observation
*Guided experiences with your parasympathetic nervous system includes breath and movement, gentle somatic yoga, restorative yoga, Yoga nidra and meditation
*Self-inquiry exercises to cultivate awareness in daily life
*Group participation and dialogue
*Individualized feedback
Joseph is a Yoga Therapist (in training), and program overseen with Chris Clapp, Social Worker (MSW RSW).
What next?
First step: Contact us for your individual intake interview. Intake interviews are held in-person at Willow Wellness (virtual can be arranged if necessary).
Program comes with Mental Health Receipt. It is your responsibility to check that you are covered for Master of Social Work.

About Joseph:
Joseph’s yoga started in 2009 after his military deployment to Afghanistan. After having completed eight Ironman races and several ultra-marathons, Joseph discovered the mental as well as the physical benefits of yoga.
In 2014, Joseph decided to become a teacher so that he could share yoga with his colleagues. He has taught yoga to soldiers both here in Canada and while deployed on operational missions. Since 2017, yoga has been the central pillar of Joseph’s treatment for his recovery from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD.)
He is passionate about his current training with the renowned School of Embodied Yoga therapy on his journey towards becoming a Certified Yoga Therapist.
