AyurvedaIn this workshop we will be looking at the basics of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is the oldest health education on the planet. The first medical school has been developed in India around 3000 BC. As Ayurveda cures the diseases of the body, Yoga cures the diseases of the mind. Ayurveda is derived from two words: ayus (life) and veda (knowledge/science): The science of life. Ayurveda is a holistic concept. Ayurveda uses healthy diet, lifestyle, massages, herbs/oils, yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation to bring people back in balance. The goal is to live in harmony with the elements and the forces of nature. Learn more about this healing practice in this introduction workshop. We will discuss briefly the 5 elements Theory, the Tridosha Theory (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), and what an ayurvedic lifestyle looks like.
Everybody who is interested in the rich history and philosophy of yoga, can join!
