About this Event
Yoga Knowledge in Translation: Reflections on First Nations Yoga Intervention
Join us at Yoga-Well-Being for an insightful event where we explore the intersection of yoga and First Nations traditions. Dr. Meera Jo Kachroo (University of Saskatchewan, Canada) will present her reflections on yoga as a biomedical intervention at two First Nations reserves in Canada. Dr. Kachroo will explore congruence between yoga’s integrative approach and the Medicine Wheel model of Indigenous well-being, while sharing challenges and lessons in the processes of Indigenous health research. Hosted by the OSU Center for the Study of Religion and the OSU Humanities Institute.
Notes: Yoga-Well-Being does not allow shoes on their studio floor. Socks are required. Please bring your own socks.
Accessibility: Unfortunately, the yoga studio is not wheelchair accessible. If you are unable to navigate stairs, please contact MacKenzie DiMarco: [email protected] so we can develop an accessibility plan.
