Yoga for Performing Artists class
About this Event
Designed specifically for performers, this one-hour yoga class focuses on the flexibility, mobility, strength, balance, and body awareness needed by dancers, gymnasts, aerial artists, theatre performers, musicians, and other performing artists.
Whether you're preparing for classes, rehearsals, performances, or simply looking for a thoughtful way to support your training, this class offers an accessible approach to yoga while keeping the unique needs of performers in mind.
While the class is designed with performing artists in mind, it is also open to caregivers and community members who would enjoy a movement-based yoga practice. No previous yoga experience is required.
Yoga mats are provided at the door, and drop-in participation is welcome throughout the summer.
Important Information:
- Best for ages 8 and up, but all ages welcome
- Participants under age 10 must have a parent or guardian remain on-site during class.
- Yoga mats are provided.
- Comfortable clothing that allows for movement is recommended.
- Drop-ins are welcome at any point during the summer session.
This class is offered on a donation basis. Donations are encouraged, but not required to attend. Current JSA students are especially encouraged to participate regardless of their ability to contribute. Optional donations help support access to arts education and community programming at Jackson School of the Arts.
