Yin and Yang. Two sides of a single coin, they are bound together to form a whole that cannot be separated. The ‘western’ style of yoga that most of us are familiar with falls into the category of yang. It builds heat, stretches and strengthens muscle and can facilitate the journey to optimal health. But what about the other side of that coin? Yin is the practice that slows us down, cools us off and works tissues in the body that are not typically addressed in a yang practice. We spend anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes (or more!) in a given pose to passively stretch the body allowing it to open up and release in its own time. With a consistent yin practice, you may find more range of motion in your joints, more ease in daily movement and it is an excellent compliment to a yang yoga practice and lifestyle. In this training we will dive into the theory and practice of yin, the science behind the theory and we will also take a deep look into meridian theory (rooted in traditional chinese medicine) and its applications in a yin practice.

Led By Jenn Williams, ERYT500 + YACEP
Jenn began her yoga journey in 2010 and has remained deeply connected to the practice ever since. While working as a massage therapist at a local spa and yoga studio, she attended her first class and quickly discovered yoga’s transformative power. In 2011, she enrolled in a 200-hour teacher training under Kersten and Monique Muller where she developed a deep appreciation for yoga philosophy, history, and its integration into everyday life and teaching.
After teaching for a year, Jenn stepped away from the studio to focus on raising her two children. In 2019, she returned to her practice with renewed purpose, completing the Mindfulness and the Eightfold Path 200-hour training with Frances Murchison and Jamie Annette. This experience profoundly shaped her teaching and inspired her to share mindfulness both on and off the mat.
Jenn continued her studies through an internship at Wilmington Yoga Center while completing the 300-hour Kunga Service Leadership training. Through this program, she taught public classes and received mentorship from Jessica Bichler.
In 2025, Jenn earned her E-RYT 500 designation which has now allowed her to begin working closely with current yoga teacher trainees in three different programs and now leads an annual Yin Yoga workshop as part of the 300-hour teacher training program.
Her classes are energetic and playful, thoughtfully blending music, breath, and movement to create a welcoming and inclusive space for students of all backgrounds and experience levels.
