YHA 2026 Festival of Walking, Botallack Mine with SWCPA
About this Event
Come join the SWCPA and YHA for a partnership walk / ramble around Botallack and Levant Mines. This walk is 4.5 miles, and includes plenty of history, wildlife and fantastic views across North Cornwall.
Date: Wednesday 23rd September
Meeting place and time: YHA Penzance at 10.15 for transport to Botallack *Please make sure you sign up by Friday 11th September to confirm your transport.
You are also welcome to meet us at Botallack Count House cafe for 11.00, and this can be booked later than the above date.
Finish time: The walk will finish at 14.20 at Botallack Count House, where pre-booked transport is provided back to the YHA.
Bookings: All bookings must come from this Eventbrite. Space is limited so please check prior to booking. If you require transport from YHA Penzance please do this before 11th September so we can arrange it - later bookings may be possible but please check
Walk distance and difficulty: The walk comes in at about 4.5 miles. For coast path walking, this route is mostly flat but does include uneven ground.
Accessibility: This route is suitable for Trampers or similar machines. There are trampers available to rent from National Trust Botallack, but this should be arranged prior to arriving. Please ask for more information.
What to bring: Please bring suitable clothing for the day.
Facilties: There are toilets and a cafe at Botallack
Cost: This is a free event put on in partnership between YHA and SWCPA, as part of the 2026 YHA Festival of Walking.
Refreshments: YHA Penzance will offer free cuppa and cake on our return to the hostel.
