Hot off the back of Gribble's latest release, Agatewards, this is the official album launch!
Now this is a wonderfully poignant album for us at Yellowbelly Records. Without giving up the ghost, Agatewards is an old nothern word also used in Lincolnshire that means to walk a while with someone on the way home. Arguably, that is exactly what this album is - as Gribbles utilises archival recordings of the Lincolnshire dialect and beautifully sets them to music. This album if therefore a time capsule, that brings these recordings back to life for a 2026 audience.
Supporting Gribbles for this launch is Duty, the latest electronic musical project of Dan Doughty - inspired by a love of melodic synthesiser driven 1980s and 1990s music, in particular the soundtracks of John Carpenter and Tangerine Dream, mixed with the retro nostalgia of Public Service Broadcasting, Duty's own Lincolnshire suite is going to be a perfect companion to Gribbles album, and will truly see the Lincolnshire dialect fittingly resurrected across the night.
And to round things off, we have Yellowbelly Records artist and sensational singer-songwriter, Harry Medium - who was once voted 3rd best singer-songwriter in Lincolnshire by a tiny amount of people. This is a victory he clings to, like a drowning man clings to a lump of wood in a shark infested water.
Together, this will be THE free gig to attend this September (though any pay what you feel donations for travel and beer money is always appreciated), hosted in the ever delightful The Joiners Arms ran by the equally ever delighted Landlord Paul.
