Enjoy the biggest celebrations on Earth on the Chinese Lunar Calendar! We gather together for a day off the trail before we head back out!
About this Event

The Year of the Fire Horse arrives this week and runs for two weeks!

Our hiking family will be getting together off trail to share our stories, social and grab Dim Sum together during a magical time with Lions. dragons, martial artists, and lots of red. Tai Chi walking is up to you ;) Following Dim Sum, Carson will lead a casual tour of Chinatown.

Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026

Time: 10:00 AM Meet time

Location: Manhattan Chinatown; near Canal and Mott Streets

Cost: Bring a minimum of $35 CASH (more than you need but you want a safety net)

Backpacks not needed for this event.

Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Michelle Yeow, Lucy Liu, Bruce Lee, and Simu Liu won't be present but we will be along with thousands of others celebrating a happy, prosperous and healthier new beginning.

The Dim Sum, tax, and gratuity will cost around $25 per person, dependent on how much the table orders. The total bill will be split evenly among everyone at that table. All fee based beverages are the individual responsibility of the person consuming (cost, tax and gratuity).

IMPORTANT - Due to it being a group, and most likely the restaurant we will be at, Bring CASH (some restaurants do not accept plastic). Just in case bring more than $25 cash; at least $35 to be safe. There are typically no ATM's in the restaurants nor nearby.

The address is just a place holder and not confirmed. Those who are registered will be emailed the specific meet location. There will be a wait time to get in but we all must be present to claim the correct number of seats needed. ALL the restaurants will be packed and have watis to get in.

Hopefully, most will lions visiting. If you have those little red envelopes you can put some bills in it to gift to the lion. Fun times.

Not a good idea to drive in, unless you plan on parking a number of blocks away in a garage or on the street (that would be a miracle to find a spot).
