About this Event
The University of Reading, Henley Business School and Reading Students' Union welcome you to our Year of the Horse Celebration - Celebrating Chinese & Lunar New Year, at the University of Reading, with arts and crafts, traditional music and more!
Come along to connect with students, staff, alumni and members of the local community. Everyone is welcome!
Activities include:
- Lantern making and decorating
- Calligraphy
- Origami making
- And more!
Performances from:
- Reading Chinese School
- Reading Students' Union Kendo Society
Food and Drink:
A buffet service will be provided at Eat at the Square, priced at £8 per person for all of our visitors. Students with a meal plan will be allowed to use their meal swipe for this event ONLY. Please select an additional 'food ticket' if you would like to eat during the event.
By selecting an additional food ticket, our catering teams are able to cater for all, ensuring that we reduce our food waste.

We would encourage the use of public transport where possible. The nearest car park to Eat at the Square is Car Park 1a, this is a pay & display car park.

Public transport
Reading Buses routes 20 and 21 run regularly between the town centre and the University. From the bus stop on Whiteknights Campus, walk straight ahead until you see the Library (big shiny building). Continue heading straight until you reach Eat at the Square.
Environmental Sustainability
Cups will be provided, however you are encouraged to bring your own reusable cup to support the environmental sustainability of the event.
