Make flowers from waste paper with Becky Wash from Retro from Scratch on Wednesday 1 July 2026 from 6:00pm-8:00pm in Brentwood Theatre Café, 15 Shenfield Road, Brentwood, Essex CM15 8AG.
"One man's rubbish may be another's treasure." - John Francis Campbell, 1860. We are launching a new set of networking sessions that celebrate creativity enhancing the circular economy. Want to learn more about realistic ways to reduce your carbon footprint as a creative? Join us over the next six months to deep dive into creative sustainability.
Our first month starts with Bloomin' Rubbish and looking towards a champion of upcycling stationary. Meet local artist Becky who is on a mission to breathe sustainability into all of her products, crafts and workshops. Join her in creating something beautiful from perceived waste in this free workshop. Build a bouquet using the right flair and tools while learning some creative sustainability tips along the way!
Sustainable Creative Communities sessions are funded by Brentwood Borough Council, Axis and Seven Arches Investment through the Brentwood Community fund. This programme aims to support sustainability and wellbeing for participants. These sessions are particularly useful to anyone working in third sector and voluntary organisations as they have an ethos of sharing resources and best practice for all creative workshops.
YAY mates = you and your mates! YAY mates is an informal group of artists and their friends from East London & the edge of Essex that is welcoming of members from here and outside of the area. Our mission is to create a connection point for artists and to create projects together to improve our local cultural landscape and harness more opportunities.
YAY mates is run by a cohort of 3 local creative organisations: Brennan & Burch, The No Collective and Well Social. It is supported by these organisations voluntarily with support from the local creative community. If you have an idea you would like to test and would like to run a session - please get in touch!
Make sure you book to avoid disappointment!
