Resilience and prayers in a time of neo-colonisation and cultural renewal
- an incredible opportunity to spend an evening with music, stories and sharing from Indigenous Brazilian Yawanawa family from the Amazon!
We are honoured to have a last-minute opportunity to host a Yawanawá family as part of their European cultural exchange tour.
Like many Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, the Yawanawá endured colonisation, violence, and attempts to erase their culture. Their population was drastically reduced and their traditions suppressed.
Today their people are experiencing a powerful cultural renewal. With around 1,500 members, their language, ceremonies, and traditions are once again thriving and being shared with the world — offering profound lessons in resilience, connection to nature, and ancestral wisdom.
This fireside evening of music and cultural exchange offers a chance to hear their songs and stories while raising financial support for the visiting family and their community.
