Have you ever wondered about the difference between Alpaca and Wool, or Cotton and Linen?
What does it really mean when a yarn is called “superwash?”
How many plies can yarn be made of and how does it impact the way it knits up?
What is the deal with synthetic fibers?
Different fiber types, and thus, different types of yarn can have so many different qualities. It can be both fascinating and frustrating trying to select exactly the right yarn for the right project.
This class will give a broad overview about the different qualities that you can – in general – expect to find with the different fiber types commercially available.
I’ll have some samples of the different yarn types knit up so we can see how they behave once fabric has been created.
There is no need to bring yarn or needles to class, and no pattern to purchase. You will merely get the chance to listen to and discuss tons of fascinating information about yarn. Bring only your questions.
Stop in at Casting On or Email [email protected] or [email protected] to reserve your spot.
