Youth Arts Movement, a 501(c)(3) organization, proudly invites you to join us for a joyful afternoon at the YAM 2026 Fall Community Concert, celebrating appreciation and community spirit, featuring live musical performances from our amazingly talented local musicians, singers and dancers of all ages and backgrounds. This in-person event promises an unforgettable afternoon, with performances that will leave you in awe.

​Whether you're a music enthusiast or just looking for a fun afternoon, this event is perfect for everyone. The concert will feature Western classical music and global traditions, including opera selections by renowned composers such as Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, and others, as well as traditional Eastern dance performances, contemporary popular music, and jazz band. Don’t miss this opportunity to support our community’s musicians and enjoy a day of unforgettable music.

General Admission is FREE. RSVP is required. We gratefully acknowledge any tax deductible contributions and will provide donation receipts.

Door opens at 2 pm. Curtain time is 2:30 pm.

The concert will feature 26 amazing performances, with major vocal highlights including:

• Six Chinese-American singers from diverse professional backgrounds—Walter Tam, Kenneth Jiang, Charles Mu, Josephine Liang, Erica Yu, and Sherry Hua—come together as representatives of the Wei-Guang Dang Vocal Arts Center. Though their careers span computer engineering, biomedical science, physics, medicine, finance, and business, their shared passion for music brings them together in songs. The Sound of Silence speaks through its haunting and beautiful melody of the growing distance between people and the voices of the heart that are often lost amid the noise of modern life. May this “silence” serve as a gentle reminder—to slow down, to listen to one another, and to let music reconnect our hearts.
• Arjun (Guitar), Chris (Drums), Jonathan (Founder of YAM, Piano), Naisha (Vocals), and Sayan (Vocals & Guitar) are all former Saratoga High School students who grew up surrounded by music and developed their passion for performing from an early age. After graduating from college and pursuing their own paths, they are coming together once again to share their love of music with audiences. Their repertoire spans a wide range of styles, from contemporary pop to jazz and other musical influences, bringing together different sounds, experiences, and personalities. Their chemistry as longtime friends and musicians makes every performance energetic, spontaneous, and full of heart

• 刘俐利 （Lily Liu）, a renowned lyric coloratura soprano who has studied under several distinguished vocal masters, including the internationally acclaimed Professor Shuzhen Guo. She completed her comprehensive vocal training at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she presented her postgraduate graduation solo recital. She also performed a major symphonic solo concert at the renowned Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. Lily has performed celebrated arias and signature selections from more than 20 operas, as well as numerous masterpieces from both Chinese and Western classical music. She has also released a solo album published by China’s National Press and Publication Administration, which has earned recognition for its artistic quality and influence.

• Katie Zhao (赵瑜)， a Corporate Finance Director with a background in Chinese folk vocal music. She studied traditional vocal performance at the China National Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble and has also produced music television albums. In recent years, alongside her professional career, she has devoted herself to the study of Italian bel canto, receiving guidance from several renowned vocal instructors. She has remained active in the Bay Area’s cultural and international exchange community. Her performance experience includes collaborating with the Hungarian National Symphony Orchestra on opera excerpts. Most recently, she performed as a soloist at the Rhine Art Festival at the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna.
• Joanna Zhang Yun （张云） has won first place and multiple gold awards in singing competitions in both the United States and China. Last year, she was selected by Beijing Television as a featured soloist and lead vocalist for a performance at the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. After a rigorous selection process in Northern California, Joanna was recognized as a CCPAS Master Artist. She has successfully presented her own solo concerts, receiving widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Joanna holds a Master’s degree in English from a university in the United States and is also an experienced bilingual host and presenter.

• Sophia Xu, Founder & Director | Collaborative Pianist | Competition Judge | Music Educator. She is the Founder and Director of J&F Musician, a music education organization dedicated to providing high-quality music instruction and performance opportunities for students of all ages and levels. As an accomplished collaborative pianist and accompanist, Sophia has extensive experience working with vocalists, instrumentalists, and young musicians in lessons, competitions, auditions, concerts, and professional performances. Sophia is also actively involved in the performing arts community. She serves as a Piano Accompanist with the California Lyric Artists Association (CLAA) and USCIM, supporting singers and musicians in rehearsals, performances, auditions, and artistic programs. In addition, Sophia serves as a Judge for the Elite International Music Competition, evaluating young musicians and providing professional assessment in music competitions.

• Jianing Li, a soprano and vocal teacher who holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Opera Performance from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Music in Opera from the Mannes School of Music in New York, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Opera from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and has also been a visiting scholar at the Juilliard School. She has won top prizes in numerous competitions, including the Gold Prize in both the Art Song and Opera categories at the Hong Kong International Vocal Competition, the Gold Prize in the Opera category at the 5th Chuncheon International Vocal Competition in Korea, the Bronze Prize at the 6th Peacock Cup National Higher Education Vocal Competition, 2nd Place and prize money at the 99th Schubert Cup Student Scholarship Competition in the United States, 1st Prize at the American International Vocal Competition, and 1st Prize at the St. Croix Opera Competition. Her performance venues include the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Shanghai Grand Theatre, He Luting Concert Hall, Lyceum Theatre, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Shenzhen Grand Theatre, Suzhou Baoli Grand Theatre, as well as Minnesota Opera, Ted Mann Concert Hall, St. Paul Cathedral, and First Presbyterian Church of Chicago. Her major operatic roles include Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Sandrina in La finta giardiniera, First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
