Could not be more excited to say that we’re hosting the magnificent Xiu Xiu on their upcoming UK/EU tour. The US experimental outfit are one of our all time faves because of how entirely they reject the norm - they’re always pushing, always confounding, always zagging, always brilliant.
Their new album ‘13” Frank Beltrame Italian Stiletto With Bison Horn Grips’ is out in September, and new single Common Loon is absolutely killer - less ambient experimental, more thrusting weirdo pop song, which they describe as being ‘about revelling in perversity, cuckooness, queerness, and/or the unquenchable personal requirement to wild out.
The poster Aiden’s painted evokes the album’s artwork, and adds a new artist called z-x to the bill. This is Rich’s new solo act - sad electro indie tracks, inspired by the likes of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Torres, the Postal Service, and, naturally, Xiu Xiu, who’ve been one of his favourite bands forever.
